Animated Cranktrain Logo
Return to blogAfter finishing my game last week, I've spent most of this week benefiting from work that other people have done. My good friend Josh Hailes put in a good few hours and animated the Cranktrain logo. It's awesome.
At times I just sit down and let it loop. If you're in the need of a game studio ident/intro then definitely give Josh an email, his rates are very indie friendly. The rest of my week has been playing around with some new technology. I mostly use Multimedia Fusion 2 for my game creation, it's easy to use, powerful and results come very quickly for me, but the Anaconda runtime is going to be a big step-up in what it can achieve.
Where as MMF2 can compile to Flash, iDevices and soon Android and XNA, on desktop machines it has been only been able to, thus far, build exe's for PC only. Anaconda however, is a completely new implementation of the runtime in OpenGL meaning Mac and Linux are now on the table. If that wasn't exciting enough, it's got a bunch of other nice features like GLSL shaders, extension development in Python, and there's all the benefits of being open source.
So I've been experimenting an awful lot with that this week, reporting small bugs, and generally being quite happy with how it has turned out.
