Miasma Story Music
Return to blogHey there. So Miasma Story has been released and is currently getting played between 10 and 15 thousand times a day which is pretty cool. I made the game almost entirely on my own, I did all the programming and the graphics you see in the game, but there is one aspect of the development that I definitely couldn't manage, and that is music. I am not musically talented in really any way, so I'm quite glad that Mathias Kærlev agreed to compose a few tracks for the game. He has uploaded them to his Soundcloud page, and I really think you'd enjoy listening to them.
Your Dark Corner - The melancholy and brooding title menu music.
Timeless Depression - The cutscene music, really gives an uneasiness to the game's setting of a spooky old Academy.
We Won, Yay - My favourite of the tracks Mathias wrote, the victory music!
Really, Fight Me - The fight music, probably the biggest challenge I gave Mathias, because perhaps 75% of the time spent playing Miasma Story, is time spent listening to this track. Still, he managed to come up with an exciting, looping track, that sounds good even after hearing it for the 10th time.
I had to compress the heck out of these tracks. Too many Flash game portals have a limit on the game's filesize, usually 10Mb, and so the quality of the music in game is painfully low. I hope you enjoyed listening to them as Mathias first intended!
